Everyone's heard of having the right tool to perform the right job. It is no different when looking for sporting equipment. In the game of golf having the right club, tee, or ball can make all the difference in the world between a lousy and a great game.
Golf balls are very specifically measured to meet golf rules. A ball can be as small as 42.67 millimeters but cannot be larger than 45.93 grams. The surface area of a golf ball has a pitting or dimpling effect across it. This allows the ball to soar through the air more aerodynamically. A standard golf ball has anywhere between 300 and 450 pits over its outside area. Golf balls come in two, three, and four sections. Those containing four sections are usually more costly. But cost is not always a guarantee of better golf equipment.
Golf clubs are known by many monikers in the game. They may be referred to as irons, putters, and woods depending on where one is golfing. A wedge is classified as an iron that used to perform shots at a smaller distance. Putters are best utilized on areas of greens, but can be helpful in bunkers. Woods and irons are used to make shots with greater difficulty from tees and fairways. A variety of clubs makes for a well-rounded set of golf equipment. Some greens only allow players to carry up to 14 clubs at a time.
Additional items such as tees, golf bags, sun shields/visors, and putting gloves can make a golf outing more pleasant. These items vary in price and quality. The best thing to do is look for items that are constructed well. Bags should have strong seams and be crafted from quality material. Also, consider what can or cannot easily be lugged around for a few hours.
